Bonnie for the Defense!

While Ash and Serena do some special training and Clemont works on his inventions, Bonnie explores the forest, where she meets a trio of kids who call themselves the Lapras Defense Force. They show Bonnie to their hideout and introduce her to their friend Lapras, who is recovering from an injury and seems to be running a fever. The three of them really don’t trust grown-ups, but when Ash, Serena, and Clemont come looking for Bonnie, the kids reluctantly agree to let Nurse Joy make a house call to their hideout.

After some medical attention, Lapras is feeling much better, but it keeps looking out toward the water and crying. Clemont figures out that it misses its ocean home, and the kids decide to take it back there. Despite a boulder blocking the way and a run-in with Team Rocket, Lapras is soon reunited with its family.

Bonnie bids farewell to her new friends, and our heroes resume their trek to Coumarine City!

A Campus Reunion!

Clemont introduces our heroes to the school where he studied Electric-type Pokémon. He graduated with top honors after inventing a device that stores electricity for all to use, thanks to inspiration from his f

riend Shinx. Team Rocket is determined to steal that electricity, but a wild Luxio who lives near the transformer is keeping everyone at bay.

When Luxio (who evolves from Shinx) gives Clemont the cold shoulder, he has a hunch about what’s going on. He explains that just before he left school, he had planned to meet up with Shinx and ask it to come with him. Clemont never made it to that meeting, and he suspects his friend never forgave him for that.

Later, during a battle with Team Rocket, Clemont throws himself in front of Luxio to protect it. Afterward, he apologizes to Luxio and promises to meet in their usual spot the next day. When the time comes, Clemont is waiting when Luxio finally arrives, and the two of them continue their journey together!

Dreaming a Performer's Dream!

Our heroes meet up with Shauna, their friend from summer camp, who takes them to see their first Pokémon Showcase! Aria, the Kalos Queen, starts things off with a fantastic exhibition performance with her Braixen. But just as the competition is getting under way, a wild Pancham runs onto the stage and cuts things short with its antics. Ash is disappointed, but Shauna and Serena are delighted that they got to see Aria perform—and Shauna is already making plans to enter the next Pokémon Showcase!

Later, the same Pancham steals Ash’s hat and Clemont’s glasses and runs away. Serena finds Pancham practicing near its cave, which is full of stolen items, and realizes it’s using them as props because, like her, it loves to perform! When she tries to catch it, Team Rocket interrupts the battle. Annoyed, Pancham demonstrates its strength by battling the villains, and then joins Serena on her journey to become a Pokémon performer!

The Clumsy Crier Quiets the Chaos!

Team Rocket stalks a Salamence and attaches a device that’s supposed to make it sleep, but something goes wrong and the Salamence runs wild! Meanwhile, our heroes have stopped at a Pokémon Center, where Nurse Joy is overwhelmed by the number of Pokémon arriving for treatment, injured by the very same Salamence. Even worse, her assistant Wigglytuff is new to the job and having some trouble.

Jessie and James, disguised as ambulance drivers, arrive on the scene to catch Pikachu and Wigglytuff. On their way out, they run straight into the Salamence! Nurse Joy steps in to protect her assistant, but Wigglytuff overcomes its fears and walks right up to Salamence, immune to the flurry of Dragon-type attacks. Wigglytuff uses a powerful Heal Pulse, which calms the raging Pokémon and saves the day!

Team Rocket’s device is removed, and a grateful Salamence quickly sends the villains flying. Wigglytuff’s future at the Pokémon Center looks bright, as our heroes say their goodbyes and continue their journey!

Season 17 | Episode 44

Splitting Heirs!

En route to Coumarine City, our heroes meet a Trainer named Blake and his Meowstic, a male with a beautiful blue coat. Among the trees, Chespin spies a female Meowstic and runs off in pursuit, followed by Bonnie, who is upset at Clemont for insisting that she eat her vegetables.

When three Beedrill attacks Bonnie and Chespin, Blake’s older brother Heath (the female Meowstic’s Trainer) rescues them, and everyone goes off to the brothers’ sprawling mansion to get some first aid for Bonnie. Then, Blake and Heath’s father challenges them to a treasure hunt to decide who will inherit the mansion!

Our heroes split up to help, but the treasure eludes everyone...until the brothers remember a tree with beautiful flowers that they discovered together when they were younger. Everyone runs to the spot, but they’re attacked by an Exploud! It turns out Exploud is their father’s Pokémon, and he sent it there to get the brothers to battle side by side, as they did when they were young.

Blake and Heath make amends, which inspires Clemont and Bonnie to do the same. After saying their goodbyes, our heroes are off once again to Coumarine City!

Showdown at the Shalour Gym!

Ash’s Shalour City Gym battle against Korrina is underway! The battle begins as Ash’s Hawlucha faces off against Korrina’s Mienfoo. He tries to use the rhythmic battle style he learned from Tierno, but it’s not going so well. Finally, he remembers Serena’s observation that he has his own unique style, and decides to battle like himself instead!

With this change of tactics, Hawlucha wins. Ash then sends in Fletchinder, who quickly takes down Korrina’s Machoke. The Gym Leader has just one Pokémon left, and of course it’s her partner Lucario, who Mega Evolves and knocks out Fletchinder and then Hawlucha in short order. But our hero’s unique battling style shines, and in the final matchup, Pikachu defeats Mega Lucario!

Ash wins the Rumble Badge, and the gang is off to Coumarine City for his next Gym battle!

Origins of Mega Evolution!

Our heroes have arrived in Shalour City, but the Gym is inside the Tower of Mastery, which sits on an island with no apparent way to get there. Korrina comes to meet them and advises patience, which gives Ash some extra time to train! His Pokémon have really picked up on Tierno’s rhythmic battle style, but it seems Ash doesn’t quite have the dancing skills to pull it off.

Low tide reveals the path to the island, and our heroes cross, eager for a Gym battle—but first, Gurkinn has a history lesson for them. He tells how one of his ancestors discovered Mega Evolution along with his partner, Lucario, and mentions the family’s treasured Scroll of Secrets...which catches Team Rocket’s attention. The villains try to steal the scroll, but Korrina and her Mega Lucario quickly send them blasting off again!

As thanks, Gurkinn decides to let his granddaughter and our heroes see the Scroll of Secrets. Much to their dismay, the “secrets” turn out to be his own common-sense rules for life, rather than any new information about Mega Evolution. But there’s no time for disappointment—it’s time for Ash and Korrina’s Gym battle!

Battling into the Hall of Fame!

Professor Sycamore’s summer camp is about to conclude, and Team Rocket decides this is the perfect time to spring into action. But, shortly after the villains throw off their camp cook disguises and try to steal everyone’s Pokémon, they get sent blasting off once again.

The scheduled events resume with Team Froakie (Ash, Serena, and Clemont) and Team Squirtle (Tierno, Shauna, and Trevor) facing off in the finals of the Team Battle competition, where the three members of each team have to work together and combine their Pokémon’s moves. As before, Tierno’s rhythmic battling style poses quite a challenge! Team Froakie manages to come out on top, but Ash is so impressed that he asks Tierno for some special training.

The next morning, it’s time for the friends to go their separate ways, but they make plans to meet up again soon. Now, our heroes are off once more to Shalour City!

Foggy Pokémon Orienteering!

It’s time for Pokémon Orienteering at Professor Sycamore’s Pokémon summer camp! In this activity, the campers and their Pokémon follow a map to several different checkpoints, stamping their card at each one, and whoever gets all the stamps first is the winner! Our heroes in Team Froakie and their friends in Team Squirtle are neck and neck on their way to the finish line when a thick fog rolls in, separating Bonnie and Pikachu from everyone else.

Tierno, Trevor, and Shauna decide to put the race on hold to help Ash, Serena, and Clemont find them. After getting into some misadventures, Bonnie and Pikachu have safely recovered thanks to the cooperation among the two groups of friends and their Pokémon partners.

Unfortunately, they return to camp too late to win any points in the race, but the Team Squirtle trio declare that helping their friends was totally worth it! And on their way back, they spot a mysterious antlered Pokémon who causes flowers to bloom...

Day Three Blockbusters!

On the third day of Professor Sycamore’s Pokémon summer camp, all the teams get to make their own Pokévision video! Pokévision fans Serena and Shauna are extra excited, and Shauna tells Serena all about the famous Aria’s latest Pokévision video and her performance at the Pokémon Showcase, where Pokémon performers show off their partnership in style!

While scouting for a good shooting location, Serena and Ash tumble into a ravine! Ash twists his ankle, and while Professor Sycamore organizes a rescue party, Ash and Serena have time to talk about finding their dreams…even if Serena isn’t quite sure what hers is yet.

After the rescue, Serena directs the rest of Team Froakie in shooting their video. When the campers vote for their favorite at a screening, our heroes come out on top! Our heroes are now tied for the most points with their new friends in Team Squirtle, as their summer camp journey continues.

Summer of Discovery!

It’s time for Professor Sycamore’s annual Pokémon summer camp, and Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie have been invited! The weeklong event is designed to build an even deeper bond between Trainers and their Pokémon. Of course, Team Rocket is on the scene too, disguised as camp chefs.

Soon, our heroes are making new friends: dancer Tierno and his nimble Squirtle, shutterbug Trevor and his feisty Charmander, and performer Shauna and her haughty Bulbasaur. Thanks to Serena’s Pokévision video, Shauna is already a big fan! After a friendly battle, the new friends talk about their dreams for the future, and Serena realizes she’s not sure about the purpose of her journey...
